Any avid sock knitter can tell you, they had no idea what they were getting into when they knitted their first sock. From the outside, sock knitting looks innocent enough. Just another garment to make. Another notch in the knitting belt. Basic ribbing and stockinette. Maybe even some cables if you want to get fancy with it.

Trust me, there is more to sock knitting then just a tube of stitches. Many knitters who have approached sock knitting with this attitude soon found themselves drawn in like a bee to honey and before they could realize what was happening, they were sucked into sock knitting's lair, never to be seen or heard doing normal knitting again.
