A Little Warm Around The Collar

I'm on the hunt now for a few good neck warmers. This is usually the time when request come in from friends and family in need of something to keep the chill off. Scrolling through some current styles I happened upon this cute little number. It's called the Dame Collar from Anthropologie.

Both Bernat and Lion Brand have their own versions of the warm and fuzzy collar. A simple pattern that is easy to shorten or lengthen to one's own personal taste and desire of coverage.

A funky winter hat anyone? This crocheted cutie is from James Coviello for Anna Sui. I'm not big on animal hats myself, but I do think that they make a great gift.  (To be honest, when I first saw this I thought it was a bear, not an owl. And I still think it looks like a bear, even after reading the description. It's the eyes and ears that are all wrong. Apparently, someone forgot just how an owl looks.Take note children- this is why it is always a good idea to have a picture nearby for reference when doing a project like this.)

You'll need some ribbon yarn with a little metallic. Might I suggest Suiza Metalic by Filati Deluxe, or Crystal Palace Party Yarn.

And of course you need a pattern. I think this garter stitch scarf from Lion Brand will work just fine. Add the fringe or create your own personal finish. Have fun!
