On The Road

Living now in San Diego with most of our family in Arizona means lots of road trips. Almost every other weekend it seems we are on the road to Arizona for quick visits.

I'm slowing learning the art of road knitting. At first it was impossible for me to knit with having such bad motion sickness. But over time I have been able to find a combination of seat adjustment, ginger chews and music that allows me the pleasure of knitting in motion.

Now road trips are filled with productive work of knitting and sometimes even crochet.

Currently working on a men's scarf that will be called, "Straight, No Chaser", named after one of my favorite bands. This scarf has taken way long to knit then it should have. I'm hoping to finally get it done this coming week. The pattern is already written down. Just need to type it up and covert to a PDF for publishing.

I have a few other projects I brought with me for this road trip, but you'll have to wait for another posting to find out about those. :-)

I Will Resist

Oh my. The stripping on this sweater is just hot. No, I'm not looking at the guy who is wearing it. You can't make me look into those deep hungry eyes. I won't be tempted by that wisp of hair that plays in front of his face. I will not be seduced by the arm muscles that the sweater just can't hide. No! I will resist. I will resist!

Okay, maybe just one little peek. . .

In Good Hands

Wanted to let you know that I am taking a week off to spend some quality time with my Boy Toy. But don't worry, I won't leave you alone. I wanted to make sure that you would be in good hands while I'm gone. So, I have scheduled a week of eye candy for your pleasure. Sexy guys wearing sexy knits- what could be better. If I have time I may just pop my head in to say hi.

So, enjoy your week and I'll see you again shortly.

Here's a preview of what to expect. Enjoy!

Dressing Humphrey Bogart

The Sanguine Gryphon Fall 2011 pattern collection was released this week on their website. This season's collection is presented with a Film Noir theme!

Named after some of the famous faces of the screen, the collection of patterns show off the dark seductive intrigue that is Film Noir.

I am honored that one of my sock designs was included in this wonderful collection. The socks are called Humphrey Bogart, the Hard-Boiled. Knitted in my signature two-needle sock design, these socks are perfect for those wanting to add a bit more flair to their man's wardrobe.  If Humphrey Bogart was still alive, I'm sure he would approve of the design.

A big "Thank You" to Jamie and the rest of the Sanguine Gryphon clan for al the work you put into making this collection.

Knitting and Crochet Blog Week 2011: Sexy Men I Want To Get My Socks On

We all have those fantasies about famous people we would love to meet, date, marry, molest back stage at an award show, tie up to your bed and. . . well, you get what I mean.

I also have the above mentioned fantasies as well as a sort of quirky one. Since I am happily married and know that I have about a snowball chance in hell of meeting, let alone dating anyone famous, I instead like to fantasize about knitting socks for my favorite hotties. So, here is a list of my top six sexy men I would love to get my hands. . .wait, I mean, socks on.

[caption id="attachment_614" align="aligncenter" width="340" caption="6. Johnny Depp"][/caption]

Admit it ladies. When you are knitting something for your man, don't you secretly wish you were knitting it for Johnny Depp? I know I do!
5. Robert Pattinson

Because ten million screaming teenage girls can't be wrong.  I loved him back before he became a vampire with emotional issues.

[caption id="attachment_609" align="aligncenter" width="375" caption="4. Josh Groban"][/caption]

Yes, he has the voice of an angel. And I would be more than happy to knit the devil out of some socks for him.

[caption id="attachment_606" align="aligncenter" width="460" caption="3. Jamie Cullum"][/caption]

Well, you know what they say about short british guys with big feet, right? (I meant that they can sing really well. Get your mind out the gutter, you hussy!) However, he does wear his pants really loose and his wife always has a smile on her face, so hummm. . . .

[caption id="attachment_607" align="aligncenter" width="400" caption="2. John Mayer"][/caption]

Yes, John Mayer, the bad boy himself. There are some naughty lessons I could teach him with my knitting needles. A night with me and I'll have him cashmere-whipped!

[caption id="attachment_605" align="aligncenter" width="490" caption="1. Jackson Rathbone"][/caption]

Jackson Rathbone is give-me-a-straw-'cause-i-just-want-to-suck-him-up damn sexy! Does there  need to be any other reason to knit him some socks?
