Tie It Up With A Bow

Now that the holiday season is fast upon us, I'm starting to gear myself up for the onslaught of shopping and gift wrapping that will shortly ensue.

Pulling out a box of up-cycled holiday bows, I couldn't help but play around with them. I put bows in my hair. Tried some out as possible pins for my black trench and even considered attaching some small ones to the front of my heels to make them look more festive.

While I'm here playing dress-up with Christmas wrapping, I'll leave you with a few bow-inspired looks.

What Does The Fox Knit?

What does the fox say? A lot, apparently. The music sensation by Ylvis has reawaken a whole new appreciation for our red and white tailed friend. And just in time for winter too. Here is a list of winter wear items to knit or crochet with foxy features to help you re-enact your own version of the, "What Does The Fox Say" video.

Why not this lovely sweater designed for the more sophisticated fox. I can totally see you walking into the board meeting wearing this number.

It's going to be a busy holiday season. Why not carry all those gifts and holiday cards in this foxy bag.

Keep those fingers warm while tossing those snowballs with this cute pair of mittens. If someone gets mad at you for throwing a snowball at them, just blame it on the foxes.

Finally, your foxy attire just wouldn't be complete without a fox hat complete with ears. This would make a great gift for all the little foxes in your life too.

So, I'll leave you with the music video to help you get in the mood for some foxy knits. Enjoy!

Let's Get Cozy

Even though the sun is shinning bright today in my neck of the woods, I will not be deceived by the current warm weather. I know this is Fall which means Winter is right around the corner.

It's time to figure out where you put your boots from last winter. Time to plug up the electric blanket to make sure it works before the first frost. Time to pull out the long underwear and break open that box marked, "Winter Clothes".

If you are anything like me, you can never have too many sweaters. And the approaching cold front is as good of an excuse as any to add another one to your collection.

Marc Jacobs is keeping with the classics this winter with a cute little Aran sweater.

Feeling the need for a little fur? Well Thakoon gives us a new take on the wooly look with this number.

I know what you bought last summer? Don't be ashamed. We've all done it. While pulling out the winter gear you most likely came across it. Instead of stuffing that bag of fun fur and eyelash yarn in the back of your closet again why not pull it out to for this little number.

In the mood for something more subtle this winter? Have no fear. Leave it to Fendi to remind us of the joys of having a really good chunky cardigan that you can through on with just about everything.

Considering just how much a shake and shiver during the winter, I'm thinking of knitting this thicker cardigan that makes me feel warm just looking at it.

So, what is your must-have fashion staple for this winter?

All In The Details

I love the detailing around the neck on this sweater. I also love his jaw line, his eyes, his. . . yes, um, the sweater. It's very nice. Did I mention I love the detailing around that kissable neck?

Check Your Boobs!

As you may know, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It is a time to stand up for those who have fallen in the fight with cancer and continue in our race for a cure. No matter if you are a cancer survivor, lost a friend to cancer or have a loved one going through the struggles of fighting this disease, we all need to support each other. We need to show cancer that we will not back down, we will not run and we will not suffer in silence. We will fight with all the love, strength and courage we have.

Show your support for those who fight the good fight everyday. Make items to  donate to those at cancer treatment centers or to remind yourself of a loved one who fought to the end. Wear your pink with pride and remember to check your boobs!
